In the video game industry today, we look for a game with the best graphics and the best gameplay. There are some major contenders who bring home the bacon with a combination of both but there are many companies who are lacking it all. Nexon America, a sister company to Nexon Korea, has released their latest game called Combat Arms. With many free games on their list, how can a small company who makes their money with item shops possibly make a game where it combines depth, action, and sheer fluidity to a game and still be free? No one knows the answer, nor is it ever asked and it shouldn’t. Combat Arms definitely does deliver what all FPS gamers need and shows potential with where it can go.

Carnivores is a Fantasy First-Person Shooter developed by Action Forms in 1998 for the PC. Carnivores, released shortly after WizardWork’s successful Deer Hunter, “proves itself to be more than “just another Deer Hunter clone” by adding two major twists to the genre: allowing the hunter to hunt dinosaurs, and allowing the dinosaurs to hunt the hunter as well” as some critics say.

Chasm: The Rift is a run-’n-gun shooter. You play as a Marine that has been sent inside a power plant to investigate the loss of power at the plant. You later discover that a group of monsters known as the Timestrikers are using the power to create ruptures in time that allow them to invade the Earth in three different time periods: present day, ancient Egypt, and medieval times. Timestrikers that have invaded the present day are also taking control of a nuclear plant in order to detonate a nuke that will destroy nearly all life on Earth.

In terms of military strength, we outpowered the enemy. We had state of the art technology, napalm, helicopters, artillery support, communications, supplies of equipment. No way we could lost? Way. It is hard to imagine any army capable of defeating foe who is nowhere and everywhere at the same time, foe who fights on his own ground, which for us was hostile, alien and hard to understand. With time, we learnt some rules of that world, we grasped the gist of fighting there. However, it was primarily the fight for survival.
